
The Heart of Claremont Association is a registered nonprofit and is dedicated to promoting the historic preservation, and vital use of Claremont’s city center.
The HOC Association works towards community betterment while lessening the burdens of Claremont’s government.
Ongoing Projects:
- The Freedom Walk commemorative brick program honors all those who have given military service. The freedom walk surrounds and beautifies the Fountain in Opera House Square.
- Repaired and refurbish the historic fountain on opera house square. In 2021/22. The Fountain has serious cracks that will be welded and then the fountain will be repainted and replaced.
- 2021/22 we will work with professionals to design and build a protective winter housing for the fountain to protect the cast iron structure from further ice damage.
- Decorate and light Opera House Square for Christmas
- Raise money to buy hundreds of Annual flowering plants and plant them Opera House Square gardens every spring.
Some of our Past projects:
-Planted and delivered flower boxes to participating businesses to beautify the downtown and raise money for the plants used in the opera House Square gardens.
-Raised funds and built the irrigation system for opera house Square gardens. Later gifted to the city.
-Supported the performing Arts in the downtown by acting as fiscal agent to Amplified Arts LLC.
– Was Fiscal Agent to finance the first Claremont Brewfest bringing an exciting and fun event to the downtown which has now become the Kiwanis clubs annual event.
-Facilitated the design and installation of the Community Information Center on Opera House Square
– Gifted the community service Van to the Sullivan County Department of Corrections. Claremont and all of Sullivan County benefited by hundreds of hours of community service in this way.
