This is the Union Block Building, looking south from Opera House Square, then known as Tremont Square and Later nicknamed as the Bull Pen.Here is a close up showing the architectural detail of the Union Block and featuring the National Eagle (news paper? ), the New York Store and the Boston Store along the Sullivan Street side. Notice the brownstone, the arches, and the massive pediment which was sadly removed circa 1975.This is the soda fountain in the drug store of Union Block on the corner of Sullivan and Pleasant. Notice the sign above the counter says Drug items conform the New Hampshire minimum…..price standard. Can anyone help with this picture? Is that the Brown Block in the center and ruins from a fire to the left?
